Best Survival movies to watch in 2022.

Survival movies are not so common in any film industry.  Finding a good Survival movie to watch can be hard. Since we all are already in survival mode due to Covid-19 why not give some good motivation by listing out 10 Best Survival movies to watch in 2020.

The Martian, based on a novel of the same name, is a Science fictional story of Mark Watney.

A US astronaut abandoned on the Red Planet after his crew leave him behind, mistakenly thinking he has been killed in a dust storm.

One would enjoy the balance of comedy and science which made this movie even more entertaining.

The movie itself is visually stunning, awesome , scientifically accurate. A must Watch Survival movie for a science fiction Fan.

2. Cast Away

Cast away is about a Fedex employee stranded on a deserted tropical island after his plane crashes to south pacific for four years.

Tom Hanks never disappoints with is movies and this is one of his best performance.

The movie gives a lesson not to give up on any situation in life. It wont be wrong if i said The Martian is Space version of Cast away.

3. 127 Hours

127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah.

A movie by far gripping, excruciating,and touches the height of human endurance and great suffering of aman trapped inside a crevasse.

James Franco does a great job as Aron Ralston.

4. Kon-Tiki

Story is of a Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and five men crossing Pacific Ocean in a balsa wood raft in 1947 to prove that South Americans back in pre-Columbian times could have crossed the ocean and settled on Polynesian islands.

They face sharks, storms, and the dangers of the open sea along the way.

A true adventure story that is faithful to the facts jut also offers insight into human endurance.

5. Adrift

Adrift is based on the inspiring true story of two free spirits whose chance encounter leads them first to love, and then to the adventure of a lifetime.

A  hurricane hits the boat, gets lost at sea and the movie goes from a romance to a story of survival.

6. The Grey

The movie set in cold region with flight crash where survivors have to survive the cold and to add blood thirsty wolves around them

Liam Neeson does well in his part and the side actors do a good job as well. Cinematic wise, the movie is amazing with beautiful scenes throughout the movie.

7. I Am Legend

Will Smith plays a virologist Surviving on his own to find a cure in New York City; after a virus that was supposed to cure cancer gets out and wipes out most of mankind.

I am Legend is more about the human psyche than a zombie apocalypse. The way that they created the look of Manhattan in this movie was just wonderful.

Will Smith pulls off one of his best acting turns as Robert Neville.

There were alternate endings for this movie.

8. Life of Pi

Amazing , different, beautiful movie it is,  I know it’s a fictional movie but  his never losing hope attitude inspires all of us.It’s worth watching.

The movie is a little slow at first though, you should give it some time (20 mins) and then you’ll start enjoying it. The story is great and meaningful, the visuals are impressive.

9. Unbroken

UNBROKEN  is the powerful story of Louie Zamperini in WWII. it’s an emotional movie,I’m just in awe of how fantastic it was. 

A movie of true will power and hope. A real gripping story of survival How he just kept going wow. This is one of the best survival movies to watch in 2020 and it’s available on netflix.

10. Bird Box

The movie is gripping, crisp and concise. I watched this movie in the comforts of my home on Netflix and I guess this made it more exciting and I sat completely engrossed in the movie.

As with every other movie, there were gaps that needed to be filled. However, I strongly believe this was an intentional move by the director to get the viewers to fill in those gaps themselves, AKA, use your imagination.
